Sykes completed his rookie NLL season appearing in all 12 games for the Seals. Sykes netted his first career goal on March 7 vs the Rochester Knighthawks. He was the Seals first draft selection in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft and the only draftee to make the opening-night roster. Sykes played junior lacrosse for the Mimico Mountaineers.
