It didn’t take long for the offensive fireworks to start right off the bat. Philadelphia scored the game’s first goal 43 seconds in and the teams combined for six first-quarter goals with Philadelphia scoring four times and the Seals twice. The Seals goal scorers were Pat Kavanaugh and Zach Courier.
It took 8:44 into the second to relight the lamp and relight it they did as the Seals caught absolute fire and scored three goals in 23 seconds to take a 5-4 lead. Ben McIntosh scored the first after taking a pass from Wes Berg at the left side of the crease and scoring on a diving shot that beat Wings goaltender Nick Damude to the glove side. Then just 8 seconds later after Trevor Baptiste controlled the faceoff Tre Leclaire scored to tie the game 4-4 and 15 seconds after another Baptiste faceoff win Connor Robinson took a pass from Currier to give the Seals their first lead, 5-4. Those two would link up again with 2:24 left in the half when Currier served up a quick-strike to Robinson, who scored to give the Seals a 6-4 lead at the break.
The Seals came out of the locker room on fire, scoring twice in the first two minutes of the second half. Dylan Watson and Ben McIntosh struck early to push the lead to 8–4 with 12:42 remaining in the third quarter. Tre Leclaire kept the momentum rolling, finding the net with 10:44 left in the period.
Pat Kavanagh added his second goal of the night with 4:40 to go in the third, extending the Seals’ lead to 10–4 before a brief scrum sent him to the penalty box. San Diego successfully killed off the penalty and returned to full strength with three minutes remaining in the quarter. Both teams traded penalties late in the third, setting the stage for the final frame.
Connor Robinson opened the fourth quarter in style, completing his hat trick less than a minute in. Moments later, Tre Leclaire matched the feat with a hat trick of his own as the Seals capped off a 10-goal unanswered run to take a commanding 12–4 lead. Philadelphia snapped the streak with a goal at the 12:21 mark, then added another to make it 12–6 with 10 minutes remaining.
Pat Kavanagh was assessed his third penalty of the night with 6:51 to go, but the Seals turned defense into offense once again. Zach Currier buried a shorthanded goal at the five-minute mark, flying through the crease to make it 13–6. Philadelphia added one more late, but the Seals closed out a dominant 13–7 victory.
