Road Warriors Seals Take Down Oshawa 13-7

The Seals came out firing early, opening the scoring with a power-play goal from Dylan Watson. Oshawa took another penalty shortly after, and San Diego capitalized again as Tre Leclaire buried a second power-play goal to make it 2–0. Leclaire stayed hot, adding another to push the lead to 3–0.

Oshawa finally got on the board with 8:31 remaining in the first, but the Seals quickly answered. Ben McIntosh struck soon after to make it 4–1, and just 20 seconds later, Zach Currier added another to extend the lead to 5–1.

San Diego continued to dominate on special teams, converting once again on the power play with two minutes left in the quarter as McIntosh scored his second of the night. The Seals finished the first quarter a perfect 3-for-3 on the power play and holding a commanding 6–1 lead. With 19 seconds remaining, Oshawa’s Emerson Clark and San Diego’s Eli Gobrecht exchanged penalties, sending both teams to 4-on-4 play to close the quarter.

Both teams killed off early penalties before Wes Berg struck just 40 seconds into the second quarter, extending the Seals’ lead to 7–1. Less than two minutes later, Dylan Watson added his second of the night to make it 8–1 with 13:45 remaining in the half.

Oshawa earned a power play midway through the quarter after a goalie interference call but couldn’t convert. Another Oshawa power play followed with 6:53 remaining after a holding penalty on the Seals, but San Diego’s defense stood strong again.

San Diego ran into penalty trouble early in the second half, with Zack Deaken heading to the box for an illegal cross-check just 90 seconds in. The Seals were then hit with another penalty at the 11:55 mark as Patrick Shoemay was called for delay of game, putting Oshawa on the power play.

Dyson Williams capitalized with a power-play goal to cut the lead to 9–2 with 10:37 remaining in the third. Oshawa kept the momentum going, as Tye Kurtz found the back of the net with 8:14 left to make it 9–3. Just 25 seconds later, Mike Byrne added another, giving Oshawa three straight goals to open the half and trimming the Seals’ lead to 9–4.

Ben McIntosh answered to stop the run, completing his hat trick with 2:30 remaining in the quarter to extend the Seals’ lead back to six. Watson completed his hat trick with four minutes left in the half, finishing off a dominant first half for the Seals. Tre Leclaire continued his standout performance, recording his fourth assist of the night on the play. Seals went into halftime with a 9-1 lead.

Wes Berg delivered one of the highlights of the night early in the fourth, scooping up his own rebound and finishing with an around-the-world, behind-the-back goal to give the Seals an 11–4 lead with 12:15 remaining.

Oshawa answered quickly, scoring with 11:58 left to make it 11–5, and Tye Kurtz added another at the 10:24 mark to cut the deficit to 11–6.

Ben McIntosh responded for San Diego with his fourth goal of the night, finishing a long feed from goaltender Chris Origlieri to push the Seals ahead 12–6 with 7:30 to play. Oshawa’s Dyson Williams added another with 6:53 remaining, but the Seals stayed firmly in control down the stretch.

Oshawa was called for an illegal substitution with 2:57 remaining, sending the Seals to the power play. San Diego took full advantage, as Ben McIntosh buried his fifth goal of the night with 2:33 to play, putting the finishing touch on a dominant 13–7 victory. Wes Berg capped off a stellar performance with nine points on the night, including two goals.
