The San Diego Seals are Bringing the Energy to Frontwave Arena

Professional box lacrosse is getting a massive boost in Southern California with the news that the San Diego Seals are ushering in a new era and effective immediately, will play their home games at Oceanside’s Frontwave Arena. It’s North San Diego County’s state-of-the-art arena that opened to rave reviews in 2024.

“Frontwave is a first-class, intimate venue that brings fans closer to the action than ever before,” said Seals CEO Paul Speaker. “Every seat feels like you are right on top of the floor, creating the kind of electric, high-energy environment that makes Seals games so special. We cannot wait to welcome our loyal fans, introduce new families and lacrosse supporters to the Seals, and build an incredible home-field advantage together at Frontwave Arena.”
Frontwave Arena offers an impressive selection of food, beverage and entertainment options. Its concession stands are anchored by well-known San Diego dining establishments, including Seaside Market, Tanner’s Prime Burgers and Gelati & Peccati. The Arena’s bars and lounges feature San Diego craft beer and cocktails. And the Arena itself features wide concourses, premium seating, reserved seating for patrons with accessibility needs and their companions, luxury suites, VIP viewing decks and exclusive lounges. The Arena also features a beautiful outdoor plaza that offers live entertainment and it will serve as a unique gathering spot where Seals fans will be able to enjoy exclusive drink specials before games.

Frontwave Arena also offers the Seals a unique opportunity to reach fans in North San Diego County, a hotbed for youth and high school lacrosse, while also opening the door to attract new fans from Southern Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The Seals play an 18-game regular season in the NLL, nine home and nine away. Since their inception ahead of the 2018-19 season, the Seals have been one of the NLL’s most successful franchises, winning 70 of 120 regular-season contests during that span. And save for the two seasons that were shortened and cancelled due to COVID, the Seals have reached the NLL Playoffs at the conclusion of every one of their six full seasons.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the San Diego Seals and their fans to Frontwave Arena and to partner with such a respected and successful professional sports organization,” said Phil Salvagio, owner of Frontwave Arena. “The Seals are a tremendous addition to our growing sports lineup, and their arrival gives us an opportunity to introduce the excitement of professional lacrosse to even more fans throughout North San Diego County and the broader region. We’re looking forward to working together to create memorable experiences for Seals fans and building something special together at Frontwave Arena.”

With a roster full of stars, including Wes Berg, Tre LeClaire, Trevor Baptiste, Zach Currier and Chris Origlieri, the Seals expect to continue their winning ways at Frontwave Arena.

“The start of the season can’t get here soon enough,” said Seals Head Coach and General Manager Patrick Merrill. “It’s a coaches’ dream to have his team play in a new and modern arena like Frontwave. With the fans being so close to the action, it’s going to have amazing energy on game nights and create a tremendous home-field advantage for our players.”

Seals games offer one of the most fun and exciting atmospheres in professional sports, while providing affordable entertainment for families and fans alike. National Lacrosse League games are hard-hitting and high-scoring affairs and Seals games feature Salty, the League’s most-popular mascot, along with high-energy performances from the talented Sirens dance team.

Frontwave Arena is easily accessible from Interstates 5 and 15, the 78 freeway and Highway 76.

The team is currently working with its existing season ticket members on transitioning their memberships to Frontwave Arena, and deposits for new season ticket memberships are currently being accepted at both sealslax.com and frontwavearena.com.
