Shoemay was drafted 9th overall by the San Diego Seals in the 2021 NLL Entry Draft. He made his debut during the 2022 season with the Seals.
During his college career at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Shoemay played defense for the Tigers. During his senior year, Shoemay and his team went undefeated (14-0, shortened season) and would go on to win the 2021 NCAA Division III Lacrosse Championship.
